Recently, I read one of my favorite scriptures in Isaiah. After thoughtful meditation of the fear of GOD and His majesty, I turned to the Book of Matthew and read "The Lord's Prayer"(which should be better known as "The Disciples Prayer"). Reflection and meditation of the two passages created in my heart a greater appreciation and awe of the loving relationship the Creator of the universe jealously desires to have with His creation. Now, may I invite you to read the following two passages, and encourage you to meditate on each one at a time, and then on the whole.
[Isaiah] saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy , holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for. ”
- Isaiah 6:1-7
“This, then, is how you should pray: “ 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. '
- Matthew 6:9-13
He asks us to call Him "Daddy"! May you be blessed by this truth.
